Christian Outreach

Mission:
The scriptures, both the Old and the New Testaments, challenge us to seek out injustice, the sick, the hungry, the homeless, and all those in need and to take action to alleviate these situations.

The St. Pius X Christian Outreach has been given the mission of leading our parish in its response to the scripture challenge.  The committee does so by encouraging parishioners to become aware of and actively help those in need.

Projects:

  • Campton Furniture Drive - Clothes and household items are collected for Appalachian Families.  Contact:  Dan Meier 331-9323 or Terry Averbeck 341-8329

  • Food Pantry Collections during Thanksgiving and Summer - Food items are distributed to food shelters in Northern KY.  Contact:  Dan Meier 331-9323

  • Giving Tree – Gifts are distributed to numerous non-profit agencies in Northern KY.  Contact:  Lauren Dressman 426-8433 or Becky Maschinot 426-0523

  • HONK – This organization creates the possibility for lower income working families to obtain homeownership.  Contact:  Dave Sommerkamp 341-4062

  • Hosea House/ECHO – Dinners are prepared on the fourth Saturday of each month.  Contact:  Danette Doggett 344-1235

  • Interfaith Hospitality Network – In cooperation with St. Agnes, shelter and meals are provided to homeless families.  Contact:  Danette Doggett 344-1235

  • ProLife – This ministry promotes the sanctity and legal protection of human life.  Contact:  Diane Tuemler 331-4841

  • Thanksgiving and Easter Meals – These meals are distributed to the needy in our area.  Contact:  Danette Doggett 344-1235 or Angie Hinkel 341-3030

  • Zalla House – Volunteers assist in yard work and maintenance for this Edgewood group Home.  Contact:  Larry Kremer 341-0179
