Elizabeth Ministry
The parish sponsors an Elizabeth Ministry
Program. This program is modeled after the story of the
Visitation wherein Mary visits with her cousin Elizabeth and
receives support and guidance during her pregnancy. Elizabeth
Ministers are not trained counselors or medical professionals,
but rather friends from the parish community who bring to new
parents the love and concern of the entire parish. A gift bag
with monogrammed receiving blanket is the tangible gift brought
by our volunteers. A dessert is also brought to the family.
While most of the visits by Elizabeth
Ministers are on the joyful occasion of a new arrival, some of
the Elizabeth Ministers have personal experience with
birth/adoption crises as well.
If you are interested in being visited by
one of our Elizabeth Ministers or if you would like to help in
any way with this worthwhile program, please call Anne Marie
Fitz at
578-9466 or
rfitz@insightbb.com.
