2007–2008 St. Pius BoTCE
The St. Pius Board of Total Catholic Education (BoTCE) is comprised of nine voting Members, selected from the Parish at large, who serve on rotating 3 year terms. Five non-voting Members also participate and include the Pastor, DRE, Principal, Parish Council Representative and a Faculty Representative. Leadership is provided by the Board Chairperson and Vice-chairperson. BOTCE accomplishes much of its work through four standing committees. The committees address specific areas that may require additional research and time. Committees make recommendations for the Board to act on. The current committees and their responsibilities include: The Finance Committee which assists in budget reviews for the religious education programs and school and also administers the Florence Wormald/Rita Ward Scholarship Fund. Academic and Catechist Committee advises the DRE and School Administration on education issues, reviews handbooks, and evaluates the Principal and DRE. The Public Relations Committee promotes all educationally related programs, teachers and staff. The School Planning Committee focuses on improving school programs, acts as a forum for ideas, issues and/or concerns and assists in long range planning. BOTCE meetings are held from August through June (except for December) on the third Tuesday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and minutes of all BOTCE meetings can be found on the parish site.
