06/01/10: WCPO Channel 9 - Two Tri-State students are among
those in our Nation's Capital for the Scripps Annual Spelling Bee.
In all, 273 of the best young spellers are competing for the 2010
Scripps National Spelling Bee title. Our Tri-State spellers are
Szofia Komaromy-Hiller from Saint Pius School in Edgewood and Matthew
Luczaj from Bridgetown Middle School. They won their chance at the big
title after winning the Regional Bee in February.
Congratulations
to Lindsey Franxman who recently won a Certificate of
Recognition for the National Council of Teachers of English in their
Promising Young Writer’s Program! 415
students were nominated nationally and only 135 were chosen as
outstanding writers. Lindsey is one of only two chosen from all of
Kentucky ! Fantastic work, Lindsey!
