06/01/10: WCPO Channel 9 - Two Tri-State students are among those in our Nation's Capital for the Scripps Annual Spelling Bee.  In all, 273 of the best young spellers are competing for the 2010 Scripps National Spelling Bee title.  Our Tri-State spellers are Szofia Komaromy-Hiller from Saint Pius School in Edgewood and Matthew Luczaj from Bridgetown Middle School. They won their chance at the big title after winning the Regional Bee in February.

Congratulations to Lindsey Franxman who recently won a Certificate of Recognition for the National Council of Teachers of English in their Promising Young Writer’s Program! 415 students were nominated nationally and only 135 were chosen as outstanding writers. Lindsey is one of only two chosen from all of Kentucky !
