VOLUNTEERS our VALUED at ST. PIUS X
Join us today!
There are so many fun and fulfilling ways to be apart of our children’s school lives and parish life while being a valued asset to our school or parish.
Many volunteer opportunities are in and outside the school and church, in and behind the scenes. Numerous activities, committees and boards within the parish and the Parent-Teacher Guild (PTG) need your help. Please consider your talents and time and volunteer today!
Bishop Foys implemented the Virtus “Protecting God’s Children” Safe Environment Program to education adults on ways to identify and report child abuse. Any volunteer who works in the school or parish property or in the name of the Diocese must be a part of this program. With this program there are specific requirements that every volunteer must complete to become a “Certified Volunteer” before participating.
If there is the slightest possibility that you may want to… chaperone a field trip or class activity, help in the classroom, cafeteria, recess or after school club, scout or brownie leader, PTG program which goes into the school, teach CCD or CLOW, or coaching or assist coaching a sports team, etc. you must first be a “Certified Volunteer”.
“CERTIFIED VOLUNTEER” REQUIREMENTS:
1) Register online at www.virtus.org, select and attend a one time live Virtus Training Session.
2). Complete the TWO forms required:
Acceptance form to the 2007Edition Diocese’s Policies - available to read/copy on www.covingtondiocese.org (2007 Edition Diocese Pol. Form)
Volunteer Application - from which a background check from a KY background check is obtained ( Diocese Volunteer Applic.)
**Complete both forms and turn into the parish or school office.
3). Keep up-to-date by reading the monthly bulletins and modules on www.virtus.org. You will receive e-mail monthly reminders.
These requirements are transferable to all Diocese of Covington Schools and Parishes.
*Hard copies of forms are also available in at both offices and in the information rack in the back of church. Diocesan Handbook on Policies and Procedures are also available in hard copy upon request.
