Miss Issenmann has been teaching at St. Pius X since 2007.

Some interesting things about Miss Issenmann:

My Family:  I am the youngest of three. I have two older brothers. Rob is 32 and Chris is 28.  I have two adorable nephews. Tyler is six and Ben is two.

My Education:  I went to St. Augustine for grade school and Holy Cross for High School. In 2007 I graduated from Thomas More College with my BA in Elementary Education.  This Spring, I will graduate from NKU with my Masters in Gifted and Talented Education.

My Talents:  I love arts and crafts. I love to knit and I even worked at a knitting shop in college. I also love to make cards and scrapbook.

My Greatest Influence:  My greatest influence is my dad. He is the epitome of a fighter. His health has never gotten him down.  He was also diagnosed with esophageal and stomach cancer. This summer we celebrated his 10 year anniversary since his diagnosis. He has also had heart problems. My dad has fought through so much in his life, that I hope that I can be as strong as he.

Favorite Catholic saint is St. Therese, the Little Flower  (She was the saint I chose for my Confirmation name, after my grandmother.)

My Favorite Color is GREEN! (Just ask my co-workers…I wear it almost every day and I just recently painted my kitchen and living/dining room green.)

My Favorite Hobbies and/or Vacation:  I LOVE to travel! In college I studied abroad in London, England and Dublin, Ireland. I have also been to Mexico twice.  Although I have traveled a lot, my favorite thing to do is go to Myrtle Beach with my family and friends!

My Favorite Singers:  I love country music. My all-time favorite country singers are Reba McEntire and Kenny Chesney.  I love listening to music in general and I especially like to go to concerts. My favorite reality TV show is American Idol!

My Favorite Holiday:  I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love Thanksgiving because of my mom’s homemade dinner! Since I have nephews, Christmas is always special. It is great to see their expressions when they get their new favorite toy!

My Homework Philosophy:  I believe that homework is important. Without continued support at home through homework, students wouldn’t be able to do well. That being said, in second grade, I don’t think students should work more than 20-30 minutes on homework.

Why I like teaching at St. Pius X:  I love teaching at St. Pius. The parents are very supportive and the students are great! It is also so nice to work with a great 2nd grade team of teachers and my best friend across the hall!

Favorite Sports and/or Teams:  I love watching football in the fall. TJ Houshmandzadeh was my favorite player, so I guess I need to find a new favorite Bengals player.

Favorite food:  My mom’s homemade macaroni and cheese! Yum! J
